Krewe of Kids Parade

The Krewe of Kids is a great opportunity for kids to enjoy being part of a Mardi Gras Parade.  This tradition was started by the Jacobs family in Cedar Point neighborhood in 1978 and has continued for over 45 years.  The parade is always two Saturdays before Mardi Gras Day at 11:00am and the day before the Neried's Mardi Gras Parade.

All kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to participate.  There is no registration to be part of the parade.  All are welcome!  Participants simply bring their throws and ride in your wagons and bicycles.  Others simply walk the parade route, which is always fun.  No motorized vehicles, except for the royalty.  Anyone interested in being king or queen should mail their names and information to Lisa Cowand at 1005 Dunbar Avenue, BSL by January 25th.

The parade participants gather at the old North Bay Elementary site on Dunbar Avenue across from Dunbar Village Nursing Home.  The Royal Elders will greet the residents at Dunbar Village where Toasting and proclamations take place. After royalty are recognized, the parade proceeds down Dunbar Avenue, taking a right on Boardman Avenue. we proceed down Boardman to B Street. Left on B street  to Leonhard Avenue. Left on Leonhard Avenue,  left in Dunbar, and back down Dunbar to our starting point across from Dunbar Village where we disband.

For more information about the parade, please call Lisa Cowand at (228) 216-0506.
