Officer Branden Paul Estorffe, age 23, was killed in the line of Duty on December 14, 2022.

From a young age, Branden dreamed of being in law enforcement and spent many years working on the skills to become one. Branden was surrounded by law enforcement professionals including his father, Ian Estorffe, who was Branden’s biggest role model. Branden specifically wanted to work and serve his community with the Bay St. Louis Police Department.

After graduating High School, Branden earned an Associate’s Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He worked at the Combat Readiness Training Center at the MS Military Department from 2020 to 2021, earning the Top Shot Award. Branden’s dream of being a law enforcement officer came true. In November of 2021, Branden graduated from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy, earning another Top Shot Award for shooting expert for the NRA Pistol Qualifications. Branden loved his job and loved serving his community. He loved and lived for the brotherhood.

On the morning of December 14, 2022 Bay St. Louis Police Department Officer Branden Estorffe and Bay St. Louis Police Department Sergeant Steven Robin responded to call that took their lives. Officer Estorffe witnessed Sergeant Robin get shot and his fight response took over. Officer Estorffe did what he was trained to do; what he lived to do; and that was to take on the fight. Officer Estorffe ran towards the gun fire, towards his brother in blue, where not only did he render the fatal shot to the shooter, but he also lost his life from a fatal gunshot. Officer Estorffe died heroically in the line of duty. Officer Estorffe’ s legacy will continue to live on through his fellow officers who witnessed his compassion for others and talent as a law enforcement officer. It will live on through his siblings, who will forever admire their brother’s fearlessness. It will live on through his family and friends knowing he died doing what he was born to do. And through his community, forever knowing he died a hero.
