Director:  Arlene Johnson

The Senior Citizen Center was established in 1972 by Mrs. Mae Beyer and was originally located at the Valena C. Jones Center.  Then in the late 1990's, the City of Bay St. Louis and the Hancock County Board of Supervisors worked together to develop a new Senior Center for Hancock County's ambulatory and active seniors. The City constructed the building, and the County, through the Hancock County Human Resources Agency, provides regular and daily programs for seniors.

The building received a substantial amount of damage from Hurricane Katrina; damages were repaired through insurance proceeds and F.E.M.A. Through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, the center was able to expand, adding a dining area, an indoor walking track, and additional storage.

The Center is open to all Hancock County residents 60 years of age and older.  For a complete list of the Senior Citizen Center services, click here.
